What is Performance Coaching?
Performance coaching is a highly effective way of helping to reduce performance anxiety and develop confidence by identifying those cognitions (beliefs, thoughts and images) which are creating an unhealthy level of anxiety and replacing them with more realistic and supportive thinking. This reduces pressure to a level where only healthy nervousness is present which will boost performance rather than reduce it.
How does Performance Coaching work?
My main approach combines psychological coaching, sports nlp and cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy. In simple terms, I work with clients on a one-to-one basis from my performance coaching practice in central London and use discussion, mental rehearsal and hypnosis to eradicate unhelpful cognitions and replace them with objective and helpful beliefs and thoughts. I also teach clients a number of powerful techniques that can be practiced alone including: self-hypnosis, breathing exercises and progressive relaxation exercises.
